Gary Marcus is a cognitive scientist, author, and entrepreneur, and emeritus professor of psychology and neural science at New York University. A prominent critic of pure deep-learning approaches to AI, he argues for hybrid neurosymbolic systems that combine learning with structured knowledge and reasoning, and writes widely on AI reliability, robustness, and policy.
